Details: Customer Service ManagerAmerican Gasket and Rubber, a division of Tekni-Plex and a world leader in the manufacture of rubber and plastic aerosol valve gaskets, is seeking a Customer Service Manager that will direct and coordinate customer service and shipping activities. This position functions as a liaison between manufacturing and the customers and evaluates and serves customer needs in a proactive, responsive, and diplomatic manner.  Provides and extracts information needed for the functional area of the division in order to serve both customers and sales management.Essential Duties: Develop, implement, review & update policies and procedures for customer service and shipping areas in compliance with company standards and management directives.  Implements policies and procedures. Develop and maintain cordial relations with the customers, including occasional visits. Maintains and updates computer records which consist of but are not limited to: customer accounts, files, part numbers, spec files and die database. Handle customer’s inquiries and resolve problems.              Initiates cost request to Management Team for new or revised pricing following with formal quotation to customer. Responsible for ensuring pricing information is current, correct and communicated.  Develop, maintain and generate effective reporting systems that relate to the job function.  Prepare routine and non-routine reports, including gathering and summarizing data – which includes daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. Initiate production change notices, die requests, sample work orders and spec change form. Review customer’s order making any necessary changes before sending confirmation back to customer.  Issue work order and coordinate with manufacturing to meet confirmed ship/delivery date.  Communicate with manufacturing to facilitate mutual understanding of customer needs, manufacturing capabilities and review of material/press schedule to insure confirmed delivery dates are met. Manage the logistic function, including both domestic and foreign freight arrangements, freight quotes, and monitor shipments for timely delivery. Prepare shipments, including those requiring exceptional instructions.
