Here is what it takes to make the cut:  a commitment to continuous learning and quality, a focus on the customer, flexibility and good relationships with others.SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:Review orders, schedules, and other documents to determine work sequence and material shipping dates, type, volume and destination.  Monitor systems to ensure inventory is accurately reflected at all times, and quality standards are achieved.Maintain shipping targets by coordinating employees, equipment, and customer demand.Plan and delegate daily assignments to employees to ensure departmental and company goals are met.Provide guidance by continuously assessing individual and team performance and giving feedback.  Promote a positive departmental morale.  Interpret transportation and tariff regulations, shipping orders, ect. for employees as needed.Train employees to create an understanding of quality standards and processes.EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or other related field highly preferred.EXPERIENCE:Minimum one year experience in a supervisory role, within a similar shipping environment.Minimum one year experience enforcing safety rules and regulations.Minimum one year of experience planning work assignments to meet transportation goals.Minimum one year of experience conferring with contractors, customers, or other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems related to transportation operations.Minimum one year of experience directing workers in a transportation work environment.Minimum one year of experience reviewing work orders, schedules, or other documents to make decisions regarding shipping.Minimum one year of experience recommending and implementing measures to improve employee motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer services.
